Enable Microsoft integrations

Has your organization approved Microsoft integrations? Then you can personally enable Outlook Mail, Outlook Calendar, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint. You do not need to enter a Microsoft app, client secret, or technical permissions. The administrator handles that.

What do you need?

  • You are signed in to the correct AI-Corporate environment of your organization.
  • Your administrator has made the desired integration available and you are allowed to use connections.
  • You have a Microsoft work account with access to the desired mailbox, calendar, Teams channels, or documents.
  • You choose an available AI model that can use tools. These integrations are not limited to OpenAI.

Do you not see the connection, or is Microsoft asking for administrator approval? Your ICT administrator can find out at Connect Microsoft 365 how your organization can grant consent in one go.

Signing in to AI-Corporate with Microsoft does not automatically enable the work account integrations. Even after a successful Microsoft login, you choose which connections the AI may use.

Step by step activation

  1. Open your profile → Preferences.
  2. Go to Tools → Connections. You will only see integrations that are available for your account and environment.
  3. Enable Outlook Mail or Outlook Calendar, for example.
  4. When prompted, complete the Microsoft sign-in with your organization’s work account. Check that the consent screen shows the expected organization app. Use MFA when your organization requires it.
  5. Return to the app and check that the connection is enabled. Also enable any other desired Microsoft integrations.
  6. Open a chat and ask a specific question, for example: “What is on my Outlook calendar tomorrow?”

If the administrator has granted organization-wide consent in advance, you do not need to give consent on behalf of the organization yourself. A Microsoft sign-in or consent screen may still appear. If you cannot continue without administrator approval, contact your administrator.

Your choice is saved in your account and also applies to new chats and other devices. You do not need to start a separate connection chat for every question. The chat settings show which connections are available in that conversation.

Read and write

The administrator determines which write actions are allowed per integration. You use the same personal on/off switch for this; you do not need to configure writing separately.

IntegrationWhat can you ask?Writing, when enabled
Outlook MailSearch, read, and summarize emails.Create/edit drafts; sending may be allowed separately.
Outlook CalendarView and search appointments.Create and edit appointments in your own calendar.
Microsoft TeamsRead and search supported chats.Look up Teams/channels and post text in a chosen channel.
SharePoint / OneDriveSearch and read documents within your access. No write actions through this work account integration.

Examples of clear instructions:

  • Draft: “Create an Outlook draft to colleague@example.org about our meeting. Save it as a draft only.”
  • Send: “Send this draft to colleague@example.org.” First check recipient, subject, and content.
  • Calendar: “Create an appointment in my calendar tomorrow from 14:00 to 14:30 with the title Project meeting, without attendees.” Specify date, time zone, and attendees when needed.
  • Teams: “Post this text in team Project team, channel General: The meeting starts tomorrow at 10:00.” Explicitly mention team, channel, and text.

A draft has not been sent yet. An appointment with attendees may send invitations or updates. A Teams post is visible in the selected channel. Writing is available when your environment has been enabled for it; you cannot enable a missing administrator permission yourself.

Disable or reconnect

Go back to Preferences → Tools → Connections and turn off the relevant integration. The AI will then no longer use that connection from your personal selection. Previously saved emails, appointments, and channel messages will remain; the Microsoft app and organizational consent are not removed by this.

Has the administrator changed the app, permissions, or secret, or has your Microsoft session expired? If needed, reconnect the integration using the same preference switch. If you see a message about missing permissions or administrator approval, your administrator must check the setup.

If it does not work

  • Connection not visible: check the AI environment and ask your administrator whether the integration is available to you.
  • Wrong Microsoft account or unexpected app name: do not complete the connection and let the administrator check the organization app.
  • Reading works, writing does not: ask whether the specific write action has been approved and technically enabled.
  • File or channel not accessible: the AI has the same Microsoft access as your signed-in account.
