Detect AI Content
The Detect AI Content tool (detect_ai) analyses texts to determine whether they may have been generated by AI. This is useful for assessing the authenticity of content.
How it works
You can submit a text to the AI and ask whether it was written by AI. The tool analyses patterns in the text, such as sentence structure, word choice and coherence, to make an estimate.
Usage examples
- "Check whether this cover letter was written by AI"
- "Analyse this article for AI content"
- "Was this text written by a human or by AI?"
- "Assess the authenticity of this report"
When you start this tool directly from the home screen, the question is already placed in the input field:
Check whether the text below may have been written by AI.
Text:
Paste the text to be checked under Text:. Keep the question and the pasted text clearly separated, so that the AI knows which part is the instruction and which part should be analysed.

Business applications
- HR & Recruitment: Assess cover letters and motivation statements
- Content marketing: Check purchased content
- Compliance: Verify the authenticity of documents
- Quality control: Check externally supplied material
Important caveats
AI detection is not an exact science. The tool gives an estimate, not certainty:
- Human texts can sometimes be flagged as AI
- AI texts sometimes cannot be detected
- Edited AI texts are harder to detect
Interpreting the results
The tool gives a probability percentage:
| Score | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| 0-30% | Probably written by a human |
| 30-70% | Uncertain / possibly edited AI |
| 70-100% | Probably AI-generated |
Best practices
- Use it as an aid: Not as definitive proof
- Combine with other signals: Take context and background into account
- Communicate openly: Discuss AI use within your organisation
- Focus on quality: The origin of a text is less important than its content
